The Shooter
Sabina Golov, a shooter, one of the character archetypes from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
Safe passage through space lanes and side streets is wishful thinking. When there’s a fight, shooters make sure they’re the ones with the guns. Handguns, long guns, heavy weapons, and artillery; expert shooters are masters of firepower.
The Negotiator
Oswald Prescott, a negotiator, one of the character archetypes from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
It’s not always about fisticuffs. The bargaining table, rumor mill, or social scene; the right word or the right cash seals the deal. Skilled negotiators get what they want and leave their counterparts thinking they got the better bargain.
The Bruiser
Leo Silstern, a bruiser, one of the character archetypes from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
It’s boxing, martial arts, street fighting, and wrestling. Most bruisers don’t look for trouble, but they can bring the pain and defend those in need. And sometimes, more robust incentives are needed when a kind word simply doesn’t do the trick.
The Pilot
Viktor Franklin, a pilot, one of the character archetypes from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
It’s the ability to bring cargo and crew quickly and safely through hostile air, space, and terrain. Whatever the craft and its condition, professional pilots know how to handle the vehicles that come their way.
Sentry Drone
A sentry, a noncombative sentinel drone from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
The Doctor
Cho Hajime, a doctor, one of the character archetypes from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
At some point, everybody needs a little healing. From herbal concoctions and acupuncture to cloning and nanomedicine, doctors’ scope and skill range from rural apothecaries and first aid medics to renowned scientists and surgeons.
Strongback Drone
A strongback, a heavy-labor drone from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
Sojourner Facility Station
The Eridanus, a Sojourner-class facility station from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion, and the only Sojourner in the exodus from the Centennia colony ship.
Sojourners are large, ring-shaped spacecraft that are almost always under rotation to achieve gravity, and are more akin to a habitat ring than to other spaceships. Ideally, Sojourners remain in high planet orbit with their lightsail in full view of the sun, and they can replenish their fuel and provisions as needed. They are outfitted with different facility bays that each have a specific purpose, such as manufacturing, medical services, or scientific research.
Sidekick Drone
A sidekick, a small helper drone from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
A fairly common class of bipedal humanoid drones that has no integrated processor. In order to function, sidekicks must be linked to a controller. While capable of receiving and executing basic remote commands, sidekicks are intended to be controlled by their owner’s PID.
Sidekicks have a PID bay, essentially a slot in their chassis, into which a PID is inserted. When inserted, the PID answers the sidekick’s security protocol and then has immediate and full control of the drone. This allows the PID to perform physical tasks to the best of its smart brain’s ability and the sidekick’s physical capability.
The Engineer
Jacqueline Velacourt, an engineer, one of the character archetypes from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
Gear and vehicles aren’t of much use if they’re broken. From a rusted bicycle to a pristine Quad-Stage Harmony Drive, veteran engineers can keep equipment in peak working order under the worst of circumstances.
Palette
A palette, a compressible technology tablet from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
A compressible-technology semi-intelligent personal computer primarily used for graphic illustration and design. In its compressed form, a palette is a rigid polymer rectangle about twice the size of a PID.
Palettes fully extend into a thin oblong disk approximately two feet in diameter, and their Write-Touch screen covers nearly all of the working surface. The palette screen’s nano-resolution allows users to create and edit two-dimensional diagrams and drawings and sophisticated three-dimensional models with exacting precision.
Skimmer
A skimmer, a near-to-ground vehicle from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
Cosmetic designs notwithstanding, most skimmers look much like a raft with full-length glide runners on its underside and a passenger cab on its top. Skimmers are powered by a series of hydrogen-fueled jet micro-engines that can lift the skimmer’s runners up to one foot from the ground.
The pitch and roll of the front and rear micro-engines provide zero-turn maneuverability virtually unmatched by other ground or near-to-ground vehicles. A lightly-loaded skimmer can quickly achieve speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour, and the liquid hydrogen fuel cells provide eight hours of drive time even at sustained high speeds.
The Infiltrator
Isabella Riviera, an infiltrator, one of the character archetypes from the Centennia: Colonist's Companion.
Sometimes all you need to get past a lock is a crowbar. Other times, you need a locksmith. For advanced security systems, you need a very good infiltrator who’s also very good at not being noticed and carries a crowbar just in case.
Empyrean Spacecraft
